Lauren Gilfeather, MSW
Lauren Gilfeather, MSW is a goal-driven, dynamic, and creative professional who thrives on using strategic development and marketing strategy. Her aim is to affect change and increase scope and impact of an educational mission - in this case, the prevention of cruelty to animals.
Lauren is the coordinator of the Massachusetts Animal Fund, a program of the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources. At the Fund she developed and manages the operations of a spay/neuter voucher program and animal control officer training with a goal of ending animal homelessness in Massachusetts. Previously, Lauren was the manager of educational programming and events for the Center for Shelter Dogs at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, where she developed training curriculum and strategic communication initiatives for the Center, now based at the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Before dedicating her life to animal welfare Lauren worked in higher education, both as director of communications for the admissions department at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University and as managing director of Top Tier Admissions. She received her MSW from Boston College Graduate School of Social Work in 2006.
Lauren is the owner of two rescue pets, a spirited corgi mix and a senior orange tabby.
